Autonomous University of Yucatan
The old colonial building, at the intersection of streets 57 and 60 of this city, where the Autonomous University of Yucatan has its main headquarters, celebrated its 286th anniversary in 1997 after being completed and inaugurated as the premises of the College of San Pedro de la Real y Pontificia University of San Francisco Javier. This University Cultural Center consists of a gallery, a video room, an entrance hall, a bookstore, a theater, music and dance rooms, as well as the University Council room and the Central Library. On the first floor, in comfortable renovated facilities, there is the auditorium « Manuel Cepeda Peraza”, venue for cultural and scientific events.
